Nasal Tip Option for Rhinoplasty

Many patients ask what can be done to the tip of their nose when considering rhinoplasty.   As a facial plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty specialist, the anatomy will dictate what is possible.  However, depending on the shape I can increase or decrease the tip projection and increase or decrease the nasal length. The key elements for success when creating an aesthetically pleasing nasal tip are as follows.  First, the patient’s desires must be fully understood because many people have different ideas and goals for their ideal nasal tip.  The tip of the nose should be made symmetric and harmonious with the rest of the nose.  Furthermore, the tip should be supported and stable to prevent any drooping, twisting or collapsing which is so prevalent with older style rhinoplasty techniques. The nasal tip is the most challenging and complex component to rhinoplasty surgery and mastery of this surgery takes a great deal of skill and experience.  Refining the nasal tip is one of my favorite things to do and I consider this an art form and a passion.
