Beverly Hills Facial Fat Transfer
While the natural aging process cannot be stopped, it can be accelerated by excessive sun damage and poor lifestyle habits like smoking and excessive drinking. These activities cause the collagen and elastin in the skin to break down at a quicker rate, thus weakening the skin’s strength and tissues’ elasticity. This process also contributes to the disappearance of facial fat, which results in aged and hollow-looking facial contours.
Although aging is inescapable, you have cosmetic options at your disposal to correct the effects. Diamond Facial Rejuvenation is a facial surgery that combines different correction techniques to restore balanced, youthful contours. Fat transfer may be performed during your Diamond Facial Rejuvenation to eliminate signs of facial aging using your excess fat. The procedure involves the removal of unwanted tissue from a fibrous area, such as the abdomen, and the subsequent injection of that purified fat into the face.
Dr. Diamond offers facial fat transfer for patients in Beverly Hills, California, to restore a younger, more rejuvenated appearance.
Female, Facelift, Neck Lift, Diamond Facial Rejuvenation, and Facial Fat Grafting.

What Is Offered With Facial Fat Transfer?
Diminished Facial Lines & Wrinkles
Over time, the inevitability of aging takes hold and begins to affect the skin’s quality and tightness. Facial fine lines, wrinkles, and creases start developing, and a healthy skin care regimen is not enough to halt the process. Fat transfer fills in wrinkles and creases to restore smoothness to the facial contours.
Restoration of Facial Volume
Maintaining youthful contours is a priority of many men and women. Unfortunately, the loss of facial volume makes this goal difficult to achieve without help. Fat transfer surgery restores facial fullness in the cheeks, nasolabial folds, lips, and temples by filling in the creased and sunken areas. Signs of facial aging are reversed as areas of volume loss are restored.
Unlike dermal fillers and facial implant surgery, fat transfer uses an all-natural augmenting material to add volume to the face. With this technique, fat is harvested from your body and transferred to the areas of your face that are lacking fullness. Because this material comes from you, there is no risk of allergic reaction, and the results look natural.
What Are My Options for Facial Fat Transfer?
Fat transfer surgery is performed under general anesthesia for your comfort and safety.
Dr. Diamond selects the donor area from which the fat will be extracted. While the donor fat location varies for everyone, many patients choose to remove fat from the abdomen so they get the added benefit of toning their stomachs.
Liposuction techniques are used to remove the donor fat. This technique suctions the fat cells through a cannula (hollow tube) that is attached to a syringe.
The harvested fat is cleansed, purified, and placed into sterile syringes.
The purified fat is strategically injected into the facial area to restore volume and correct wrinkles and facial creases.

What Are Your Concerns About Facial Fat Transfer?
How Long Does It Take to Recover From Facial Fat Transfer?
Some of the transferred fat will be absorbed by the body soon after the injections. Therefore, Dr. Diamond injects a higher volume of fat during the treatment than what will eventually result. This extra fat will cause the face to look puffy and swollen immediately after the procedure; however, this fat will settle.
Patients may develop some tenderness and discomfort at the harvesting and injection sites. Any pain can be alleviated with prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication. Fat transfer patients are encouraged to rest but get on their feet as often as possible for leisurely walks.
Bruising and swelling are normal for the first week in both the harvesting and transfer sites. Most fat transfer patients return to work and their normal day-to-day-activities within one to two weeks. Makeup can be worn to camouflage any residual swelling.
Two to Three Weeks
The majority of the bruising and swelling will resolve after two weeks, and the final results will begin to become apparent. Patients can return to most activities, including vigorous exercise, after this time.
Will There Be Scars After My Facial Fat Transfer?
Since the transferred fat is injected into the facial structure, there will be no scars on the face. Patients may develop some scarring at the liposuction sites; however, the incisions will be small and placed in strategic areas.
All scarring will fade with time.
How Much Does Facial Fat Transfer Cost?
The cost of facial fat transfer will depend on the extent of the procedure and the number of areas being treated.
Diamond Facial Rejuvenation is a complicated surgical procedure that requires the extensive knowledge and skill of the surgeon. This level of experience will be reflected in the final cost of your treatment. Additional cost factors will include anesthesia, facility fees, pre-surgical tests, post-surgical garments, and the cost of any combination procedures.
Dr. Diamond will provide you with an accurate cost estimate once he has had a chance to evaluate your needs. We offer financing options through CareCredit®.
Is There Pain Involved With Facial Fat Transfer?
General anesthesia is used during a fat transfer procedure to eliminate discomfort during and immediately after the procedure. Patients may experience minimal pain due to swelling and bruising. Pain medication can be used to control any discomfort.

Frequently Asked Questions About Facial Fat Transfer
Q: Am I a candidate for facial fat transfer?
A: Facial fat transfer surgery is designed for patients who have lost moderate to significant volume in the face and are looking for an all-natural alternative to dermal fillers or facial implants. Men and women who are interested in facial fat transfer:
- Are in good overall health
- Have no previous medical conditions that can affect their ability to heal
- Do not smoke
- Are realistic about their expectations
Q: Should I combine my facial fat transfer with another facial procedure?
A: Facial fat transfer can be performed as a standalone procedure; however, it is most commonly performed in a more comprehensive #Diamond Facial Rejuvenation that includes facelift surgery, blepharoplasty, or brow lift surgery. During your consultation, Dr. Diamond will help you determine the best facial procedure(s) to achieve your ideal results.
Q: Can fat transfer provide as much natural shape as facial implants?
A: Facial implants, including customized facial implants, are tailored to the patient to create defined angles and contours. While facial fat may not be able to create the same sharpness as implants, it can restore natural fullness and volume to the face. Dr. Diamond has extensive knowledge of the underlying facial structure and knows how to place and inject the fat to achieve the most desirable results possible.
Q: Are my facial fat transfer results permanent?
A: Unlike facial fillers, which dissipate over several months, fat transfer provides long-term facial fullness. Even though the fat is not readily absorbed by the body, this treatment will not stop the natural aging process, and patients may eventually lose additional fullness and experience new wrinkle development. Patients who follow a healthy lifestyle, including a nutritious diet and religious skin care regimen, can extend the longevity of their results. Patients are recommended to refrain from excessive sun exposure and habits like smoking.
