Even with proper skin care practices and good sun protection, lines and wrinkles can and will still develop across your face. The forehead is one of the most susceptible areas because it is an area with such constant movement.

As you age, your facial tissues weaken, and gravity does the rest. When the tissues on the muscles lose strength, it can cause your brows to fall into the eyelids, and, sometimes, non-surgical treatments and laser therapies are not strong enough to correct these changes. Diamond Facial Rejuvenation is a collection of facial surgeries that comprehensively restore youthful contours and complement the facial features. The brow lift is a Diamond Facial Rejuvenation technique that tightens the brow area and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the forehead.

What Is Achieved With a Brow Lift?

Lifted Brows

The tissues on your forehead begin to weaken with age and repeated facial expressions. This combination causes the brows to fall and push against the eyelids, which may cause you to appear angry or fatigued. Diamond Facial Rejuvenation with brow lift surgery repositions your eyebrows by tightening and lifting the tissues of the forehead. Raising the eyebrows can erase years from your face and rejuvenate your appearance.

Elimination of Frown Lines

Frown lines are the “11” lines that develop in between your brows. These lines form in response to repeated muscle movements, and while they are initially only present when the face is in motion, they can worsen to become permanent fixtures on your face. Brow lift surgery lifts the skin and tissues in your forehead, which relaxes the tension that is causing the frown lines to develop.

Fewer Forehead Wrinkles

The forehead is subject to consistent movement and stress. This tension causes wrinkles and deep creases to develop along your forehead. Brow lift surgery removes the excess tissue that causes wrinkles and provides you with a smoother, more youthful complexion. Brow lift surgery can be performed by itself or in combination with another facial enhancement surgery to restore facial balance.

What Are My Options for My Brow Lift?

Your brow lift is performed through one of the many techniques offered by Dr. Diamond. The method used will depend on the extent of correction needed.

Diamond Facial Rejuvenation is performed using local or general anesthesia. After making the incisions, Dr. Diamond tightens and places the brows just above the orbital ridge to maintain the natural curvature of the eyebrows. This allows for youthful and natural-looking results.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

The endoscopic brow lift relies on the help of a pencil-like camera known as an endoscope. This technique makes a few tiny incisions along the hairline through which the camera and the tools are inserted, and all the manipulation of the muscles and tissues is accomplished.

The endoscopic brow lift is Dr. Diamond’s preferred technique because it allows for the most control while resulting in the least amount of recovery and scarring.

Traditional Brow Lift

Traditional brow lift techniques utilize an incision that runs along the forehead behind the hairline from ear to ear. While this technique can provide optimal improvement and is appropriate for those with significant laxity, it results in a more extensive scar that is often unnecessary.

Combination With Eyelid Surgery

Sometimes sagging brows creates hooding on the upper eyelid that can be addressed with a brow lift. Other times the hooding of the eyelids is due to sagging on the skin of the eyelids—something that brow lift surgery cannot correct. For patients who experience laxity and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes, #Diamond Facial Rejuvenation with a combination of brow lift surgery and eyelid surgery is beneficial. Eyelid surgery makes incisions in the creases of the upper eyelids and just below the lower lash lines to trim excess skin and reposition fat pockets. This procedure corrects sagging eyelids and rejuvenates the eyes.

Combination With Facelift

Brow lift surgery or brow lift with eyelid surgery can be performed alone when there is only aging on the upper third of the face. Unfortunately, the signs of aging often occur across the face, and addressing the upper region of the face without the lower area can result in an unbalanced facial appearance. Diamond Facial Rejuvenation with facelift surgery targets the lower two-thirds of the face, and the combination of these procedures will help you achieve total facial rejuvenation and restoration of facial balance. Facelift surgery makes incisions within the hairline through which excess skin is trimmed, and the underlying muscles and fat are tightened.

What Are Your Concerns About the Brow Lift?

How Long Will It Take to Recover From My Brow Lift?

Brow lift surgery is an outpatient procedure, and you can return home shortly following your operation. You will need to have someone to drive you home and stay with you for one to two days.

Immediately After

Your incisions will be covered with bandages, and you will experience some bruising and swelling around the forehead and eyes. Be sure to keep your head elevated at all times.

One Week

You should rest with your head elevated for at least one week to minimize swelling and promote blood circulation.

Most brow lift patients return to work within one to two weeks.

Two to Three Weeks

You will still have some bruising and swelling at this time, and physical activity will need to be limited.

Four to Six Weeks

Most major swelling will subside after four to six weeks. You can resume all activities, including strenuous exercise.

Will There Be Scars After My Brow Lift?

Dr. Diamond prefers to perform an endoscopic brow lift. This technique utilizes much smaller incisions that are well hidden behind the hairline. Therefore, an endoscopic brow lift will have minimal to no postoperative scarring. Any scars that do develop can be minimized with silicone strips and gel, and you should avoid any direct sunlight while your incisions are healing.

How Much Will My Brow Lift Cost?

Plastic surgery procedures are tailored to the individual patient. Therefore, an in-person consultation with Dr. Diamond is required to determine the cost of your surgery. During your consultation, Dr. Diamond will recommend the techniques or combinations of procedures that will provide optimal results. This plan will significantly impact the cost of your procedure.

Your brow lift cost estimate will include the cost of the technique, the anesthesia, the facility fees, and the surgeon’s fees.

We offer financing options through CareCredit®.

Is a Brow Lift Painful?

A brow lift is performed with anesthesia to ensure that there is no pain during or after the surgery. Once the anesthesia wears off, it is common to experience some discomfort. This pain can be lessened by taking prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication and by applying cold compresses.

Most discomfort and sensitivity will resolve within a few weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Brow Lift Surgery

Am I a candidate for a brow lift?

Ideal candidates for brow lift surgery should be in good overall health and have realistic expectations of their results. Patients interested in brow lift surgery must also be willing to stop smoking for several weeks before and after the procedure as this can increase your chances of complications.

What is the difference between a brow lift and eyelid surgery?

Brow lift surgery addresses aging in the upper third of the face. This includes the forehead and eyebrows. Eyelid surgery targets the signs of aging on the upper and lower eyelids, such as upper eyelid hooding and lower eyelid bags.

Is there a non-surgical alternative to a brow lift?

Qualifying patients may be able to address the signs of aging on their forehead and around their brows using BOTOX® Cosmetic. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a non-surgical, injectable treatment that temporarily minimizes the expression lines and wrinkles that develop on the top third of the face like frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet by relaxing the muscles to prevent muscle contraction.

Will my brow lift results be permanent?

Diamond Facial Rejuvenation provides long-lasting correction of an aged forehead or brow. While these results will be noticeable for several years, they will not stop the natural aging process, and additional aging will eventually develop. That being said, your forehead and brows will always look younger and more rejuvenated than if you had not had a brow lift.

You can extend the quality of your results by avoiding direct sun exposure, applying a broad-spectrum SPF, eating a healthy diet, and being religious in your skincare practices.
