Many people are born with large or protruding ears (called Prominauris) that can negatively affect ones self esteem and even have a negative psychological impact on children as early as the first grade. Otoplasty is a very safe procedure that can be done under local anesthesia. This procedure is done through an incision hidden in the crease behind the ear. The ear is then brought closer to the head using a combination of techniques that will be determined by your specific anatomy. The healing period takes about 1 week and is very easily tolerated by most people.
